Where do you work?

I give face-to-face sessions in Gosforth, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

If you’re based in Newcastle, and feel that you’d benefit from being outside in nature, I offer walk-and-talk therapy in Jesmond Dene.

I also work online, so I can meet you wherever you are. Online therapy is just as effective, and many people find it more convenient.

(Please note that although I can work with people in most parts of the world, unfortunately my insurance doesn’t allow me to take clients based in the US or Canada.)

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on you. Some people find that short-term therapy—usually between 6 and 12 sessions—is enough to work through their issues.

Other people prefer to work with a therapist for longer to address deeper patterns of thinking and behaviour that go back to childhood.

We can discuss how many sessions you think you need in an initial meeting, but you’re always free to finish whenever you want, or to continue for longer.

Do I have to have therapy on a weekly basis?

Generally speaking, meeting a therapist once a week is the best way to achieve steady, gradual progress.

But it’s up to you: you may find that meeting once a fortnight feels like enough, or prefer occasional check-ins rather than regular sessions. Or sometimes you may feel you need more than one session a week. We can discuss what feels right for you.
